During a recent playthrough on Stardew Valley, I finally tried romancing the other characters. Previously, I'd always been too focused on the financial side and I wanted to see what a social run would be like. After marrying Leah, I thought about how much fun it would be to arrange for the other characters to date. Some of them seemed like natural matches.
I'd never played any of the Tomodachi Life games before, and when my partner said he wanted it, I was skeptical. But I had fun building Miis in his world and was pretty won over. It felt silly having two haphid Miis on different accounts, so I decided to make Stardew Valley in Tomodachi Life so I could make them date. I named my island Punchii (like, poon-chee) because it was the first fun sound that came to mind when I was asked to name the island.
There are some matches I'm hoping for, but for the most part I let fate decide. My character from Stardew doesn't even seem to like Leah all that much and so our children are orphans. I want to document their affairs and heartbreaks here. I think it would be a fun writing exercise to pretend this is a tablid newspaper.
I haven't touched html since like 2005 so I am very rusty and not sure how I'm going to format this. So this may just be a wall of text page for a while, but I would like to make it nice one day. I hope you enjoy reading!
During my initial build of characters, I was too focused on "realisim" so my later characters look better. Additionally, I think the order of creation may have influenced who is attracted to whom. Almost everybody is pan, though a few characters are ace.
As of today, there are four marriages, two of which have resulted in children. Abigail and Sebastian were the first to wed. They fell for each other almost instantly and got married a few days into the game. I've made Abagail a bit of a bully. She purposefully mispronounces everybody's names, is very tall, and is very physically active. Sebastian reminds me of Trent Reznor. He used to be into making music, but he's kind of just in it for the aesthetic right now. They have two kids, Ciara and Mason. Ciara initially wanted to be like her mom, but after her younger sibling was born, she started getting in touch with her creative side and cultivated an interest in painting. Mason, their youngest, is interested in music, but more hyperpop and less industrial. They're also less interested in the harsh black aesthetic and have more color in their wardrobe and myrth in their heart.
I was kind of hoping Clint and Abigail would match up because they seem like a real life couple that exists. I pushed for them to get together, but they're only best friends. A few days ago, Abigail invited him to live with their family, so maybe their closness will blossom into a home wrecking experience. Clint is friends with Emily in this world, but doesn't seem romantically interested.
Haley and Willy hooked up very quickly and very dramatically. They were the first pair I saw get mad at each other. I was so surprised to see them literally throwing stuff at each other. They live on a dock away from most of the town, but Haley is very social and walks inland frequently. She's a hashtag boy mom with her sons Winter and ooof I'm forgetting his name right now. He's very new, only a few days old.
Jas and Vincent fell in love as children and eventually wed. Children can't get married, so they asked to be spray painted into adulthood and I allowed it. I kind of regretted that they became sweethearts so fast since it felt like comphet, but I was too slow to make other children. I did eventually, starting with Leo, Peebee and Leah's children (Binky and Helene), and a sentient racoon from the racoon family that lives near Marnie's farm. Jas and Vincent haven't had children yet, but Jas asked for a hairstyle update after the wedding. She picked a nice one so I let her keep it.
I try to make all the children friends with each other and with Penny, but it's a battle.
Penny, I want her to get with Maru. They have such nice chemistry in Stardew, with their cute little book club and hope for intellectual pursuits. They could really lift each other up. But unfortunately, Harvey and Maru got together really quickly. They are just sweethearts and I'm trying to make them break up. I don't know how to do it, and I'm avoiding "cheating" ways like changing their dating preferences. Right now I'm just trying to make them hang out with other people a lot. Harvey is the town heartthrob. Gus, Leah, Elliot, Jodi, Alex, Gil, and Maru have all had crushes on him. But so far, he's steadfast in his affections. And poor Marlon pines after Gil, who has never wavered in his attentions towards Harvey.
Pam has fallen for George. That feels very right to me, I know a real life George that feels similar to the Stardew character, so I'm happy with this. But don't be sad for Evelyn, she has a mutual crush with the Wizard that I am rooting for. I want her to have her Howl's Moving Castle romance. But! They've been mutual crushes for like a real life month and neither will make a move! I make them hang out every time I log on, but I don't know how to push them forward. Recently, Pam, Penny, Gus, George, and Evelyn have all moved in together, so they're aware of their established "real world" relationships. I hope that doesn't stop my dreams from coming true.
Speaking of Gus, he's been such a romantic. He is constantly falling in love with someone, but he's never made a move. When he asked about having a crush on Sam though, I didn't allow that to happen. The age gap felt too weird. Elliot is a similar way. He keeps falling in love. Though he has been braver and asked, it's just never been reciprocated.
Linus, I have as ace. Though I'm calling him Lyonel because I forgot his name when I made his character. Later, when I made Leo, I was charmed how they both have lion-names so I left it. I indicated Linus and Leo were related, and they've moved in together, whih is very sweet. Leo has really taken to living in town and very rarely visits Ginger island. He's become a really social guy, though hasn't developed any crushes yet.
Alex and Sam are just buds with everyone. Alex had a short crush on Harvey and was rejected. He hasn't fallen for anyone since. Though I'm trying to get him with Jodi so she can be a cougar. In Stardew, Jodi seems so sad to be locked down with children, I want to give her some more adventure in this game. So I'm hoping she either gets with Alex or with the merchant in the woods near Marnie's house (who I have named Cinder). But unfortunatly, she's in love with Kent, who doesn't even really notice her. Though he has been a good friend to Vincent at least.
Caroline and Pierre aren't very interested in each other. In fact, there's the making of an interesting love triangle. Robin has a crush on Caroline and they've recently moved in together. Pierre has a crush on Robin. Demetrius doesn't have a crush on anyone, but has several strong friendships.
Sandy and Emily haven't cultivated a strong friendship, but Sandy and Penny have. If Penny and Maru don't work out, Penny and Sandy could be a happy alternative. In my recent Stardew save, I married Leah but Penny was my mistress. Right now, Peebee has a crush on Penny, so we might get that future instead. Emily has a crush on Elliot, which feels strange but might work out for them.
If I remember right, Krobus is ace too. But I've made all the supernatural creatures meet, so he's got a good friend group. This includes the Wizard, his ex wife, her henchman, Grandpa's Ghost, the racoon girl, the traveling merchant's sentient pig, the dwarf, the mermaid Sirena, and a sentient bird from Ginger island. Even though the dwarf and Krobus don't get along in the game, I thought it would be nice if they were friends here. Grandpa's Ghost and Cochonette the pig have a mutual crush but they're both cowards.
Ginger Island is connected by one long bridge to Punchii and is the home of Professor Snail, who has become close friends with Gunther. Sirena, has a crush on him currently. She uses her guitar and swaying body to get his attention, but he hasn't noticed. Birdie and Mr Qi live on the island too, but I've limited each of their social interactions. Though Birdie is social and keeps meeting people without me. Good for her. She currently has a crush on Sentient Bird and I'm rooting for them.
Oh I almost forgot about Shane. Which is reasonable, he sucks. Shane buys all his clothes from Jojamart with his employee discount, so they're all blue. He drinks too much and looks sickly, and has developed a crush on his boss Morris. Morris lives in the Jojamart and is pining after Marnie. Marnie and the Mayor are friends, but it's been slow getting to this point, so I don't know if they'll be together in this game either. Part of me thinks it would be funny if Morris stole her out from under him, but I'm also kind of rooting for Shane to bootlick Morris. So we'll see how that goes.
I think that's everybody. I want to upload some pictures soon and maybe make profile pages.
